This is a separate list of bodies selected from other categories. These bodies are made entirely from Plainsman balanced native clays except for the H555 which is 50:50 refined:native materials.
Of the high temperature reduction bodies, choose H555 is you want the cleanest and whitest body possible. If you need some speckle and can tolerate a little darker color and sandy texture, then use H431. For a good all-around body we recommend H550.
M340 is our number one selling body. If you work in the middle temperature range you will find it good compromize between the difficult-to=work-with porcelains and the darker stonewares.
Lighter bodies can impart a very different character to glazes than high-iron bodies. Generally glazes will look cleaner and have less speckle in the case of the reduction process. Many glazes respond well and others look much better on a darker body.
For information on glazing check the general pages for the medium and higher fire bodies. Visit the page at www.ceramicsoftware.com/magic/index.html for information on a book to help you develop glazes for these bodies.
